Why faith is important…

“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”

-Hebrews 11:1

1. Faith is what holds us to God, it gives us our relationship with Him

2. Faith keeps us relying on God, we’re not spoon-fed

3. Faith gives us hope

4. In the end, faith is a matter of life or death

Why is it powerful?

Faith means we’re having all the power of Jesus inside us! So we have the authority to heal the sick and drive out demons and all that cool stuff. :D

So, if you’re ever feeling worried about whether God has your back, draw closer to Him, and you’ll see, He does. :D

Brightening my perspective :)

lydiarichards:

So, a while a go, I went on a lovely walk with my dog. It was right after a thing happened that made me sad, and it was like God made the world really beautiful, just for my walk , to cheer me up. And looking back on the pictures and seeing how they aren’t anything amazingly special. Makes me think that in that moment God was comforting me and enabling me to have a really bright perspective, see the world how He sees it. Just to comfort me!

:)

I do feel bad for not thinking of any questions. I have one, rather difficult one for you that I've never got a proper answer to: in the most literal sense, where is God? As in where. He must be somewhere?

Thank you. Don’t feel bad at all! And you thought of one anyway! I hope you get a satisfactory answer! :D

Undercurrent: The Blog, has been rather inactive recently. I don’t really know why.

So! Here is a post. I really don’t have much to say! Thank you to ALL that prayed for/bought gifts for/sent messages to your secret angel! Dan’s telling me all the ways we should have done it… it involves everyone sneakily putting gifts in people’s pockets.

Anyway, it was a HUGE encouragement to see everyone doing so much for each other :) We’re bound to have loads of great things next year and whatnot so look forward to all that and have a lovely christmas! If you’ve not got a church to attend on christmas day, ALL the Poynton churches are incredibly welcoming and would love to have you I’m sure :)

let us know of any prayer requests and whatnot on this page (in the question things above), as you do, and have a lovely holiday :)

The critical question for our generation—and for every generation—
is this: If you could have heaven, with no sickness, and with all the
friends you ever had on earth, and all the food you ever liked, and
all the leisure activities you ever enjoyed, and all the natural beauties
you ever saw, all the physical pleasures you ever tasted, and no
human conflict or any natural disasters, could you be satisfied with
heaven, if Christ were not there?

― John Piper, God Is the Gospel: Meditations on God’s Love as the Gift of Himself

This is the quote I was going to bring on Monday about fully relying on God. I found it very challenging. I think it’s important to live with our aim being to not be able to live, without Jesus.

Pumpkins!

Hi! I worked out how to post on here!

So here’s the pumpkin thing i said I’d post: 1st God picks us from the field, brings us in and washes the dirt off you. Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate and greed. Then He carves you a new smiling face and finally He puts his light inside you for all the world to see! (This doesn’t just apply to Halloween btw! It just shows that God picks us and shines his light out through us!)

can someone pray for me or something, I'm really tempted to harm myself over some pretty bad stuff happening in my life at the moment and its taking a lot more energy than I've got to resist it. Please :|

YES!

Of course I will pray, and It’d be great if anyone else reading this could do the same :) Remember Gods promises for you in his word!

I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

You can always look forward to a brighter day.

I try to do that, asking God to help me, but I feel as if I'm being selfish by asking that of him...

Your well being is of the up most importance to God.

It says in psalms that he breathed “and all the stars were born”: you’re never asking too much of God. Matthew 7:11 says how generous God is in his giving and in psalms again, how he “delights in his people.”

Don’t get caught thinking you’re being selfish or asking too much. Why would anyone (sane) want you to suffer? :) Pray for these people, think well or them, and continue to confide in your friends and people who you can rely upon to encourage you and to speak truthful words of life over you :)
